Easter 2010 Cartridge….Farmer Baby
Easter 2010
Time to create: 2 hours
Time to scraplift:1 ½ hours
When I was given the assignment to create with the Special edition Easter 2010 Cricut Cartridge I wanted to do something other than the traditional Easter layout. The cartridge is versatile and can be used for many things beyond Easter projects and layouts. I fell in love with the cute little animals as soon as I got the cartridge and I knew they would make an adorable farm animal layout.
I pulled several colors of cardstock, the “June Bug” collection by Basic Grey, and my Cricut out of my stash and got to work.
The colors of Cardstock I used were:
Orange
Black
White
Pink
Green
Yellow
Neptune blue dotted Swiss by Bazzill
I started by cutting the animals. I cut the chick at 1 ¾ inches. I cut the chick out twice, once in yellow and once in orange. I cut the beak and legs of the yellow chick and mounted it on the orange chick. I then put orange glitter on the beak and legs of the chick.
I cut the sheep out at 1 ¾ inches out of white cardstock and then cut the shadow out of black cardstock. The pieces for the sheep face and feet are also cut out of black cardstock. I used a black pen and a pink pen to outline and highlight the sheep.
The bunny was cut at 1 ¼ inches so that it would fit into a 2” square with the other animals and my photos. I cut the bunny out of white cardstock and the shadow out of black cardstock. I used white sugar coating glitter and a pink pen to finish off the bunny.
I also cut the zigzag border from the Easter cartridge 6 of them at ½ inch). The grass at the bottom of the farm animal blocks is also cut using the Easter cartridge (2 for each block for a total of 6 at 1/2 inch).
The title was the next step. I used the Base Camp cartridge and cut my letters out twice. I cut them out once with the Neptune Blue cardstock at ¾ inch and once with the shadow feature on out of black cardstock.
Now that I had all my pieces cut out I just had to put it together. I mounted all the animals on white cardstock and then mounted them on black cardstock along with my 2×2 photos.
I used a 4×6 photo for my main focus photo and mounted it 3 times, twice in black cardstock and once in white.
My title is on a long strip of yellow paper from the June bug collection. The journaling block is stamped with an Autumn Leaves journaling block stamp.
My layout is done on a yellow piece of paper from the June Bug collection that was cut down and mounted on a piece of black cardstock and then adhered to the blue polka dot paper also from the June Bug collection.
There you have it…the Easter 2010 Special Edition Cricut cartridge put to good use…you can use it for many different projects, not just your traditional Easter projects!

Very cute, love that you made a non Eastery page. Shows just how versatile this cart is.
